Letter from Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner, CEO and President of Phi Theta Kappa

Dear Honor Student,
As you know, we are facing an unprecedented and challenging public health situation. On behalf of Phi Theta Kappa, I am reaching out to assure you that we are committed to continuing our work and are holding you in our thoughts.
As members of Phi Theta Kappa, I know you are the students who work the hardest—both inside and outside the classroom—and work to find ways to grow as individuals and leaders. That is why we have made our award-winning programs available online—just behind your login at ptk.org. I challenge you to make the most out of your membership and your community college experience by using these tools to make you the best version of yourselves.
PTK Connect is the only database in the United States that contains all scholarships specifically for community college transfer students. We have over 900 four-year colleges for you to explore. We even have a career exploration tool.
Transfer Edge is an online, self-paced course that guides you through the transfer process from beginning to end. It teaches you how to apply for aid, select the right school, submit winning transfer applications, and much more.
Employment Edge is an online self-paced course that helps you navigate the process of finding a job. It teaches you how to craft your resume, develop your elevator pitch, utilize internship opportunities, and much more.
Competitive Edge is an online, self-paced course that develops essential skills for professional success. It teaches you how to advocate for yourself, communicate effectively, build a strong network, and much more.
Research Edge is an online, self-paced course that introduces you the basics of undergraduate research through PTK’s Honors in Action program. It teaches you how to evaluate sources, analyze evidence, and turn your research ideas into action.
PTK’s Competitive Scholarships are awarded to hundreds of the most deserving members each year. Our Foundation provides over $1.3 million dollars annually in cash sent directly to you so you can use it for things you need the most.
Another big part of the PTK experience is our annual convention, PTK Catalyst. We call it Catalyst for a reason—it gives us momentum as we engage with our colleges, our communities, and each other. This year, for the first time ever, Catalyst will take place in a virtual format. It will include the election of new International Officers, keynote speeches, and recognition of award-winning chapters and chapter leaders. You can learn more about it at catalyst.ptk.org.
Nothing is more important to us than your continued success. Over the coming weeks and months, we look forward to serving you in more creative ways—and hearing ideas directly from you. Until then, please follow us on InstagramFacebook, and Twitter.
We hope you are taking care of yourselves and seeking the support you need to continue your education. Working together, we will get through this.
With care and respect,
Lynn Tincher-Ladner, Ph.D.

Alpha Mu Tau's Triumph at Texas Regional Convention

On March 5th, the Alpha Mu Tau Chapter went to the Texas Regional Convention of Phi Theta Kappa. This is one of many Conventions that members and officers get to go to. What is special about Texas Regional Convention is that this is where the entire Texas Region Convenes to elect their next Regional Officer Team, and come together to celebrate a whole year's hard work of all the chapters around the Texas Region.

The whole chapter runs for the Regional Office, and there are 2 different positions the chapter can run for. Essentially, the Texas region is divided up into 5 Districts, all of which have Vice Presidents, and Alpha Mu Tau falls under District 2. The Chapter may also run for the Regional President position, which oversees the 5 Districts. Our Chapter ran for the District 2 Vice President Position and we won!
